Keona was born May 7, 2008, and crossed the Rainbow Bridge October 30, 2019. She exemplifies the spirit of the Samoyed. She is outgoing, friendly, and carries on a conversation the best way she knows- howling! True to the breed Keona loves to work. She has earned a master working title through the Samoyed Club of America. Keona has participated in many activities. Her favorites are pet therapy and agility. She started her therapy dog career in 2010, just before her second birthday. Keona's therapy focus is at a local inpatient Behavior Health hospital. She also visits the medical patients at the hospital. Keona enjoys playing, entertaining, and teaching life skills especially problem solving in group therapy sessions. She has titles through the American Kennel Club in rally, obedience, agility and has been recognized for her work as a therapy dog. Through the Samoyed Club of America she has been recognized for her work in weight pulling, hiking, scootering, and bikejoring.
Did you know the Samoyed is one of the 14 ancient breeds most genetically similar to the wolf, but there is no mixture of wolf or fox running in the Samoyed strain!
