WORK AND PLAY ACTIVITIES
The Samoyed is a true working dog. Originally bred to pull sleds, herd reindeer and hunt in Northern Siberia the Samoyed views work as fun! The Samoyed of today excels in many performance activities. The Samoyed Club of America recognizes three levels of the working Samoyed based on participation in sledding, skijoring, bikejoring, scootering, herding, weight pull, pack hiking and therapy. The American Kennel Club recognizes several performance events such as rally, obedience, agility, lure coursing, barn hunt and scent work as well as other events. The Samoyed enjoys several of these performance events mainly due to the fact that it strengths the bond with their human(s).
